Spanish Royal Dynasties

Spanish Royal Dynasties

There are two lines that connect the Spencer-Churchills with the Spanish dynasties. Both lines run through the Dormers, one to Leon and Valencia via a lower noble, and the remainder to the higher nobility.

The basis for the Spanish aristocracy are surviving local lords, related to the Visigoths, bolstered by the Basques in the form of the Pamplona dynasty. These resistors to the Saracen advance were consolidated in the Asturias dynasty, which is the source of the dynasties of the remainder of Spanish kingdoms. The Portuguese dynasty is largely indigenous, as are the Portuguese people. Common ancestry is shared between families descended from Basque royalty and descendants of the Umayyad Dynasty that fled to Andalus.
